- Q: What is On-Line Baking?
- A: On-line banking lets you do your banking right from your PC at home or in the office. You can now have access to all your banking information through the internet. - Q: What can I do with online banking?
- A: You can check balances, review account histories, transfer funds between accounts, pay bills and much more.
- Q: What equipment will I need?
- A: You can access afcb online from any computer with Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows 2000, XP or ME. Macintosh is also supported. The computer must have internet access and a Web browser with 128-bit security, such as Netscape 6.0 or higher or Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.
Windows 95 will work, but is not completely supported due to an outdated operating system.
Note: Any browser version less than the versions listed above will result in an error upon login.
The recommended browser is Internet Explorer. Some functions may not work properly in Netscape.
- Q: Can I access my accounts from more than one computer?
- A: Yes. You can use any computer that has internet access and a browser with 128-bit security. That means you can you can pay bills or access your accounts from home, work on even on your laptop when you are away from home.
- Q: How do I enroll for afcb online?
- A: You may print an enrollment form on line by clicking afcb online, or you may stop by an Athens Federal office and pick up a brochure and enrollment form. You may also call one of our offices and one of our customer service representatives will send you an enrollment form.
- Q: What accounts can I access?
- A: Checking, savings, money market, and loan accounts can be accessed through afcb online. Transfers can be made from checking, savings and money market accounts. You can also make a loan payment from your checking, savings or money market using afcb online.
- Q: How current is the online statement information?
- A: When you connect to afcb online, you will receive information on all of your account activity for the last 90 days. The on-line information is current as of the last posting day and displays all activity conducted through the bank such as electronic deposits and cleared checks, plus check card and ATM activity.
- Q: Will I still receive a monthly statement?
- A: Yes. As always a statement will be mailed to you monthly
- Q: How safe and secure is On-Line banking?
- A: The most important feature of afcb online is the multiple security levels. Athens Federal Community Bank uses a combination of the latest technologies to protect data. It features password controlled entry, Veri-Sign issued digital ID for the on-line server, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol for data description and state-of-the-art firewall protection. Regulation E applies to on-line banking just like our Athens Federal Check Card and liability on unauthorized electronic transactions is limited to $50 for transactions that are reported in a timely manner.
Please note: You will not be accessing the bank's host computer. When you request access for this service your account information will be hosted on a separate server with all appropriate firewalls and multiple layers as described above.
- Q: How much does it cost?
- A: Accessing account information through afcb online is free to all personal account customers.
- Q: Which bills will I be able to pay through Bill Payment?
- A: You can pay almost anyone with a valid address in the United States -from utilities to credit cards, to your paperboy. However, government regulations do not permit the payment of child support, maintenance, alimony, tax payments or any other governmental or court directed payments using this service.
- Q: How long does it take for bills to be paid?
- A: It is necessary that all scheduled payment dates selected by you be no less than five business days before the due date, not the late date or date in the grace period ( For example, the payment should be entered on Monday before 8PM Eastern Standard Time if the payment is due on Friday). Payments entered after 8PM will be considered on the next business day. If you follow the procedures listed herein and the Service fails to send the payment as described in the payment instructions received, the Service will be responsible for any late charges ( up to $50 per late payment). In any other event, including but not limited to choosing a Scheduled Payment Date which is not five business days before the due date or on or past the due date stated on your invoice or bill, the risk of incurring and the responsibility for paying any and all late charges or penalties shall be your responsibility.
- Q: Which accounts can I access?
- A: You may access any account on which you are an authorized signer. Simply complete the enrollment form indicating which accounts you would like to access via afcb online. The enrollment form can be accessed on line, printed and returned to our office for processing, or you can stop by or call and have one mailed to you.
- Q: What if I forget my password?
- A: If you forget your password, you can call one of our Customer Service Representatives Monday through Thursday 8:30am - 4:30pm and 8:30am - 6:00pm on Friday's and have your password reset. You'll be asked to provide additional personal information that will verify your identification. Your password will then be reset and you will be given instructions on how to proceed. You will also be able to change your password on-line whenever you wish.
