ATHENS FEDERAL BILL PAY FEATURES:

 

1) OVERNIGHT PAYMENTS: This feature allows AFCB bill pay customers to pay paper check bill pay merchants overnight by paying an additional overnight fee of $14.95. This fee will be shown when you pay a qualifying bill and be deducted from the account tied to bill pay when the payment is scheduled.

 

a. You must have bill pay in online banking to have access to this service.

 

b. In order to know if a bill/payee qualifies for this service you click on the calendar by the payee setup in bill pay and you will see a note that says, *We can deliver your payment on xx/xx for a $14.95 Fee. In the calendar window on the bottom right; or the $14.95 fee will appear if you scroll over the date where this applies. (If the payee is an electronic recipient, this method is not shown as an option since there is no charge for next day payments if the merchant accepts electronic payments.)

 

c. Cutoff time for this service is 2 p.m. eastern time and payments cannot be scheduled for weekend or holiday delivery.

 

d. Deliveries are completed by UPS and they cannot be to a PO Box, international or military address, or to a payee in Alaska or Hawaii. e. A UPS tracking number for the payment will be provided to the customer�s email address on record in online banking.

 

2) Personal Payments or P2P payments provided by ZASHPAY: This will allow AFCB bill pay customers to pay individuals using the payee�s email address or their cell phone number provided they use Verizon, Sprint or ATT as their mobile carrier for a charge of $ 0.50 This may be expanded to more carriers in the future.

 

a. You must have bill pay in online banking to have access to this service.

 

b. This option is available by selecting the �pay people� tab at the top of bill pay window.

 

c. Payments can be sent using an email address or a mobile phone number of the person you are sending the funds to.

 

d. Each customer will have limits to amounts they can send in this manner. There are three limits; a next day limit, a weekly limit (rolling 7 days); and an exposure limit. Holds may be put on payments based on the vendor requirements.

 

e. The recipient customer will receive a text message or email indicating they have received a payment with instructions on how to pick it up.

 

f. The sender can cancel the payment if it has not been processed.

 

g. The payment and the fee will show up separately on your account statement and post to the payee's AFCB account automatically if the payee has AFCB bill pay; or it will occur when the customer accepts the funds if they are not and AFCB customer.

 

h. If the payment is not picked up by the recipient in 12 days it automatically is cancelled.

 

i. AFCB customers with bill pay will receive their funds in the account tied to their bill pay account and will be able to see a history of both payments made and received from the pay people tab.

Q: What equipment will I need?
A: You can access afcb online from any computer with Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 2000, XP or ME. Macintosh is also supported. The computer must have internet access and a Web browser with 128-bit security, such as Netscape 6.0 or higher or Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher. Windows 95 will work, but is not completely supported due to an outdated operating system. Note: Any browser version less than the versions listed above will result in an error upon login. The recommended browser is Internet Explorer. Some functions may not work properly in Netscape.
Q: Can I access my accounts from more than one computer?
A: Yes. You can use any computer that has internet access and a browser with 128-bit security. That means you can you can pay bills or access your accounts from home, work on even on your laptop when you are away from home.
Q: How do I enroll for afcb online?
A: You may self enroll by clicking on Online Internet Banking Enrollment.
Q: What accounts can I access?
A: Checking, savings, money market, and loan accounts can be accessed through afcb online. Transfers can be made from checking, savings and money market accounts. You can also make a loan payment from your checking, savings or money market using afcb online.
Q: How current is the online statement information?
A: When you connect to afcb online, you will receive information on all of your account activity for the last 90 days. The on-line information is current as of the last posting day and displays all activity conducted through the bank such as electronic deposits and cleared checks, plus check card and ATM activity.
Q: Will I still receive a monthly statement?
A: Yes. You can sign up for electronic statements and notifications directly from your online bank account.
Q: How safe and secure is On-Line banking?
A: Athens Federal Community Bank uses a combination of the latest technologies to protect data. It features password controlled entry, Veri-Sign issued digital ID for the on-line server, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol for data description and state-of-the-art firewall protection. Regulation E applies to on-line banking just like our Athens Federal Check Card and liability on unauthorized electronic transactions is limited to $50 for transactions that are reported.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Accessing account information through afcb online is free to all personal account customers.
Q: Which bills will I be able to pay through Bill Payment?
A: You can pay almost anyone with a valid address in the United States - from utilities to credit cards, to your paperboy. However, government regulations do not permit the payment of child support, maintenance, alimony, tax payments or any other governmental or court directed payments using this service.
Q: How long does it take for bills to be paid?
A: It is necessary that all scheduled payment dates selected by you be no less than five business days before the due date, not the late date or date in the grace period. Payments entered after 8PM will be considered on the next business day. If you follow the procedures listed herein and the Service fails to send the payment as described in the payment instructions received, the Service will be responsible for any late charges ( up to $50 per late payment).
Q: Which accounts can I access?
A: You may access any personal account on which you are an owner. If you complete sell-enrollment and do not see an account you want to have access to call or come by a branch and speak with a customer service representative about having the account added.
