What is Online Banking?

Athens Federal Online offers the same support, security and quality service found at each of our branches. You can:

Customize your at-a-glance view and quickly access all of your AFCB accounts directly from your PC at home or in the office

Transfer funds from one AFCB acount to another and/or to and from external accounts you own at other financial institutions

Make payments with ease using Online Bill Pay

View, print and download bank statements and other notices with online eNotifications

Bank smarter with Online Financial Management - track acccounts and categorize transactions, retain and review account history, create and maintain a budget and establish financial goals, track net worth, monitor activity, and import data from other online accounts

What can I do with Online Banking?

With Online Banking from Athens Federal, you can check balances, review transactions and account history, transfer funds from one AFCB acount to another and/or to and from external accounts you own at other financial institutions, pay bills, manage your finances, view statements and much more.


How do I enroll for AFCB Online?

Contact your customer service representative to enroll at 1-800-526-3572. The process typically takes less than 10 minutes.

Which accounts can I access?

You may access any personal account on which you are an owner. Transfers and loan payments may be made from checking, savings and money market accounts. If you do not see an account you would like access to in Online Banking, please contact your customer service representative to discuss adding the account.

Can I access my online account from more than one computer?

Yes, you may use any computer that has internet access and a browser with 128-bit security. Feel free to pay bills or access your accounts anytime, anywhere - from home, the office or even on vacation!

What equipment will I need?

You may access AFCB online from any computer with Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 2000, XP or ME. Macintosh is also supported. The computer must have internet access and a Web browser with 128-bit security, such as Netscape 6.0 or higher or Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher. Note: Any browser version less than the versions listed above may result in an error upon log in.

How safe and secure is Online Banking?

Athens Federal Community Bank uses a combination of the latest technologies to protect data, including multi-factor authentication and layered security. It features password controlled entry, Veri-Sign issued digital ID for the on-line server, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol for data description and state-of-the-art firewall protection. Athens Federal follows specific rules for electronic baning transactions issued by the Federal Reserve Board. Known as Regulation E, the rules cover all types of situations involving transfers made electronically. Under the consumer protections provided by Reg E, you can recover internet banking losses according to how soon you detect and report them.

If you report the losses within two days of receiving your statement, your liability is limited to the first $50. After two days, the amount increases to $500. After 60 days, you could be legally liable for the full amount. These protections can be modified by state law or by Athens Federal policies, so be sure to ask a customer service representative about how these protections apply to your particular situation.

How much does Online Banking cost?

Accessing account information through Athens Federal Online is free to all personal account customers.

External Transfer Service: There is no charge to transfer funds to your Athens Federal account; however, there is a $3 fee per transfer to transfer funds from your Athens Federal account to an account that you own at another financial institution.

I forgot my password - now what?

You may use the forgotten password link by answering the security question you set up in Online Banking or contact your customer service representative at 1-800-526-3572 to reset your password.

Will I still receive my monthly statement?

Yes, unless you enroll for eNotifications (electronic statements and notices) directly from your Online Banking account. Simply select the "eNotifications" tab in Online Banking to enroll.

How current is the online statement information?

When you connect to AFCB Online, you will receive information on all of your account activity for the last 90 days. The online information is current as of the last posting day and displays all activity conducted through the bank such as electronic deposits and cleared checks, in addition to debit card and ATM activity.

I am having trouble printing my eNotifications - what can I do?

We recommend that you download the most recent version of Adobe Reader to access and/or print your eNotifications. Click here to download the most current version of Adobe Reader for free. For best results when printing your eNofications, please select "fit" instead of "actual size" under the size options on your print screen.

Which bills will I be able to pay through Online Bill Pay?

You may pay almost anyone with a valid United States address - from utilities to credit cards, to your sitter and landscaper. However, government regulations do not permit the payment of child support, maintenance, alimony, tax payments or any other governmental or court directed payments using this service.

How long does it take for bills to be paid?

It is necessary that all scheduled payment dates selected by you be no less than five business days before the due date, not the late date or date in the grace period. Payments entered after 8 p.m. will be considered on the next business day. If you follow the procedures listed herein and the Service fails to send the payment as described in the payment instructions received, the Service will be responsible for any late charges (up to $50 per late payment).
